TTIP DISCUSSION AT EBERL

24.04.2015

Traunstein companies exchange opinions

On April 1st, the Information Circle for the Economy (IdW), founded in 1976, met at EBERL in the late afternoon. The focus of the discussion was the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership TTIP. The negotiations for a free trade agreement between the EU and the USA have been a topic of political discussion for some time and continue to make headlines. Konrad Sterflinger, the chairman of the IdW, welcomed numerous representatives of around 20 local companies. Spedition EBERL was also pleased to welcome some well-known guests including: Tobias Zech, member of the German Parliament and Klaus Steiner, member of the Bavarian Parliament.  They informed the participants about the state of the negotiations and the background of the potential agreement. Attendees discussed the possible opportunities and risks into the early hours of the evening. The issues of customs and exports, which are of special interest to the logistics sector (for export-oriented industry sectors…), were also a topic at this informative event.
