“The name Eberl stands for guaranteed performance”

24.02.2015

The most important and exciting question in business is: What’s next? The 2015 business climate survey for freight forwarding and logistics by the Institute for Economic Research (ifo) in Munich made a favorable prognosis for 2015. What do the two managing directors of EBERL, father and son, have to say about it?

How was 2014 for EBERL?

Thomas Eberl: The year 2014 lived up to our positive expectations. Naturally, there were once again shifts in the logistics sector. When our customers feel the effects of political decisions, for example, the sales crises in some countries, we also feel the effects. However, as a company, we are very well poised; our offers are very diverse and we can react quickly to new developments. That is our key to success.

Where are the trends in logistics heading in 2015? EBERL already offers its customers an all-inclusive service today.

Thomas Eberl: The relevant sectors for us delivered good prognoses for 2015. We are prepared and have expanded our procurement division. We have also strengthened ourselves in the area of combined transport with air and sea freight. We are focusing on always being able to offer our customers better and more comprehensive logistical solutions. We take care of all our customers’ needs – so they can continue concentrating on their core business. We take over management of the entire project. We would also like to position ourselves in the growing business of e-commerce.

It’s the medium-sized companies that generate the lion’s share of the turnover and this makes the logistics sector the third largest economic sector in Germany. What are the specialties of a family-operated, medium-sized logistics company?

Jürgen Eberl: For us, the customer is king. We manage their needs and advise each individually. They’re often working together with us for years. Here, we know to appreciate this great trust that they place in us. We offer a truly personal service with dedicated contact personnel. In this way, we rely on very high standards and well-structured processes. Reliability, competence through experience and passion for our work – these are the values that distinguish us as a family-operated, medium-sized company. The name Eberl stands for guaranteed performance and our customers know this.

The company headquarters has been in Aiging, near Traunstein, since 2002 and four new warehouses have been built since then. Is a larger investment also in the works for 2015?

Thomas Eberl: We are also going to move our E5 truck and trailer garage to Aiging. The plans are already completed. There are also some more exciting developments being discussed in the framework of this move. In the fall, we hope to be able to celebrate its grand opening and that will be something we can all look forward to.
